ACHTUNG: we are off to meet Guerrilla Girls when they visit Helsinki

We think that Guerilla Girls are pretty awesome and what we really love about them is their great humour.

So we pack our black cocktail-dresses, jump into our bathtube and sail away to meet some gorillas.

Guerrila Girls is an anonymous group of radical feminist artists established in New York in 1985. They are working for the end of gender-based discrimination, for equal access to education, freedom from sexual exploitation and abuse, reproductive rights, and human rights for women everywhere.

They are famous for wearing gorilla masks in public and taking the names of deceased female artists as pseudonyms.

ACHTUNG, the auction

Achtung Fittor made it possible to buy conceptual art for a night, auctioning the 48 answers from the IN BED project, being businesswomen for an evening, proud artists and brave persons. An opening full of energy, excitment and of course great art-bargains. Thank you everybody who took part in the opening, who came to see our performance, and you who bought a piece of art!

The great audience was bidding lively on the answers and in the end of the performance there was only seventeen of them left.

ACHTUNG building up

Achtung Fittor are building up their work for a group show at Tobaksmagasinet in Jakobstad.

We are exhibiting the 48 answers from our project "Achtung Fittor in Bed". During the opening on friday the 8th of april we will do a performance and auktion the answers. Come and bid on your favorite reason to why you are in bed!

ACHTUNG STATEMENT

Three artists behind an expensive wind-machine:

We are the goodlooking artists in black evening gowns, we are the brave artists, we are the deep ones, the brilliant ones, the rockstar ones.
We are the naive and sponatnious ones, playing on the edge of art and we are the ones not caring to fit in, but exploring the fun of the artfield and we are the ones creating new fields, the ones painting the new fields black, burning them down, planting them upside down all over again and actually there are no fields but a spaceship.
